Your action plan looks great! It very detailed and nicely laid out! Great Job
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteHanna, I love the details. The app idea is AWESOME!!I think for when you do the survey you should do it at a school wide event where you have computer set up. We did this at a banquet for students and when the parents came in we directed them to computers to encourage them to sign up for ParentPortal.
ReplyDeletePlease comment on my blog as well. Thanks!
Thank you so much!! I can't find your blog when I click your name...can you give me the URL??
DeleteI like how you're utilizing a variety of resources to gather information from Facebook to newsletters to surveys. Very well thought out!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda!!
DeleteWhat is the URL for your blog??
DeleteI love the idea of creating a communication app! Don't forget about those Android users out there. I think there is a development kit you can get for free that you can use to create your own android app, as well as ios device.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a brilliant idea. Our district has a Facebook page, but not our individual school. That's a great idea. We also send out what's called a Mustang Messenger via e-mail about twice a week. It includes any announcements that we want to reiterate, as well as fun facts, and updates. I love the idea of having an app too. I know that I look for any App that will make my life even a little bit easier. Will you be able to connect Parent Portal to the app? I think it might be difficult to see through the website, and I know that so much of what parents look at is on the go. If they don't look at it when they have a random few minutes, it doesn't get done at all.
ReplyDeleteVery thought out plan and creative. I do want to point out something though; your purpose is to increase parental involvement which means your campus is struggling with parents' participation, so how are you going to ensure that your surveys and parent meetings obtain the response from parents that you desire? You need to have a plan ready to make sure parents do give you the feedback you desire and attend your meetings. Just food for thought. Hope this helps.
